They make a 309 wire this is for welding carbon steel to stainless steel ONLY. Since its just a crack on a car exhaust I think 308 or 316 would be fine to use but it's up to you. I would get some 3/32 and some 1/16 wire, I don't know the material thickness or if their is a gap but these two sizes should cover it.

I've been trying to learn how to mig weld stainless steel. I'm using the normal c25 mix. Here's a picture of my result. I'm using the stainless steel wire also. I put the metal piece in the garden where it gets watered a lot and it does seem to be rust resistant. The problem is that the welds are not shiny. Not sure why but it makes the metal really dark colored.
